SPECIALIZED AETHOS: DOES THE PAINT WEIGH? HOW MUCH?

In recent years, weight has been a key factor in Specialized's product strategy. So much so that they have introduced market-leading products in both mountain biking and road cycling, such as the Aethos and the Epic EVO.

We have been able to weigh two units of the Specialized EVO frame in two different colors, in an attempt to determine if different paints result in different weights. At first glance, the answer would be yes, as we can see in these two size 54 units.

Initially, the difference is 60g in favor of the grey unit, which will be slightly less if we consider that the white unit is weighed with the front derailleur mount, while the gray unit is weighed without this piece.

In any case, the weight of both units is simply AMAZING.
